Significant performance improvements for Apple and Smart TV apps

The Accedo One team is always looking for ways to improve app performance. Over the past months, our teams have focused on enhancing performance across the Apple TV and Smart TV (Samsung and LG) platforms, with significant results.

Apple TV

With version 1.147.0, we introduced Liquid Expression Caching, a performance optimization that allows the app to store and reuse certain calculations instead of re-doing them every time. In practice, this means the app does less “thinking” and more “doing,” freeing up the device’s processor (CPU) to focus on delivering content faster.

The performance gains are significant across every key area of the Apple TV app. Freeing up device resources and reducing unnecessary workload has made the interface feel much more fluid.

In practice, key components like the grid container now load around 70% faster, while Liquid Expression processing itself has become almost instantaneous. 

Our caching efficiency has greatly improved, meaning the app is now reusing data far more effectively rather than recalculating it every time.

Smart TV

With version 1.168.0, we rolled out a series of performance optimizations focusing on how efficiently content is rendered - in other words, how quickly screens and interface elements appear and react as viewers browse your app.

First of all, we optimized several of the app’s core components to reduce complexity and improve speed. 

The app now works smarter when drawing content. It pre-filters which components are visible before attempting to render them, ensuring that only what’s needed is displayed and making screen transitions smoother.

We also refined the data-fetching logic to reduce overall render time. A targeted improvement ensures that when users navigate back to a previous page, content reappears almost instantly.

You will begin to see these improvements with your next app delivery. We are in the process of rolling them out to all customers, so you can expect these enhancements to take effect in your apps very soon!
